While the Middle East is in turmoil, the underground news about China is barely known. In addition to the decades long turmoil with Tibet, there are two other groups of dissidents – Mongolian and now, inside China, what is called the Jasmine Revolution. A well educated friend of mine in Shanghai had no idea what I was talking about. But Chinese people are reacting to the Middle Easterners and agitating inside China.
Exacerbating all this is inflation at a time when higher food prices mean real trouble, and a pernicious drought. Because America is so busy minding her upsetting business, Chinese woes have been swept in the corner.
